a2-certificate-of-competency-a2-cofc-online-course
A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) Online Course
The A2 Certificate of Competency is the UK qualification that lets you fly a drone nearer to uninvolved people than the basic Open category rules allow. On a class marked UK2 or C2 drone under 4 kg, that's down to 30 metres, or 5 metres in low speed mode. On a legacy drone under 2 kg, it's 50 metres, and the 150 metre rule on built-up areas no longer applies. It never permits flying over uninvolved people.

This course is delivered online by Blue Skies Drone Training, a CAA approved Recognised Assessment Entity (RAE15601). You learn through short videos at your own pace, practise with mock exams, then sit the final exam at home on a laptop or desktop with a webcam. It's the usual next step once you hold your Flyer ID, and your certificate is valid in the UK for five years.

You'll receive an email to set up your account shortly after your purchase.

• Unlimited practice exams to build confidence before the final assessment.
• Sit the exam whenever you're ready—no booking required, no third-party scheduling.
• 12 months' access to course content and the Blue Skies Drone Training community.
• Monthly group coaching sessions with Blue Skies Drone Training's Founder & CEO.
• Around five hours of on-demand video instruction.
• Free resit if you need to retake the exam.
