02 Preparing Your Device

2.1 Camera Compatibility

DJI RS 4 Mini is compactly designed, with a maximum payload of 2 kg. Please ensure that the camera lens and accessories installed are within the payload range.

2.2 Device Charging

Please use the included USB-C charging cable to charge the gimbal. It takes approximately 110 minutes to charge it fully.

Note: 1. Please mount the extended grip/tripod before charging.

2. Enjoy up to 13 hours of operating time! Actual usage time may vary based on accessories, balance state, and feature usage.

2.3 Camera Mounting and Balancing

• Ensure the gimbal is powered off before mounting the camera.

• Before using the gimbal, adjust the balance of the tilt, roll, and pan axes in sequence to ensure optimal image stabilization and to maximize the gimbal's performance.

2.4 Device Activation

Press and hold the power button to power on the gimbal, then download the DJI Ronin app. Open the app and connect to the gimbal to activate.

2.5 Firmware Update

When the DJI Ronin app indicates that new firmware is available for update, please follow the on-screen instructions to proceed.

- Do not close the DJI Ronin app or switch it to the background during the update process.

- If the update fails, please try again after restarting the gimbal and the DJI Ronin app.

03 First Use

3.1 Connecting a Camera

DJI RS 4 Mini supports two connection methods. You can choose to connect via Bluetooth or camera control cable.

Note: 1. This video is applicable to DJI RS 4 Mini, DJI RS 4, and DJI RS 4 Pro.

2. The gimbal supports some Sony and Canon cameras controlling the shutter after connecting to the camera via Bluetooth.

3.2 Button Functions

3.3 Touchscreen Functions

3.4 Use with Smartphone

After mounting your smartphone through the phone holder and connecting it to the gimbal, you can quickly control the camera of your smartphone through the gimbal. Whether taking a photo, recording a video, or adjusting the focal length, all operations respond swiftly.

04 Using Accessories

4.1 DJI RS Intelligent Tracking Module
